The vertical integration common in such operations means that hatcheries operated by the same company produce chicks that are then sent to farms. Within the farms the chickens are grown, often using foodstuffs supplied by the company. The fully grown chickens are then sent to be slaughtered and processed into a variety of products which are then distributed widely.
