Conglomerate

Conglomerate of Old Red Sandstone age in Cushendun, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. This is formed of cobbles and boulders of Dalradian quartzite, some over half a metre in diameter, embedded in a matrix of red sandstone. These are thought to have been formed in desert-like conditions about 400 million years ago.
