Locks

Locks being closed in wet weather on the navigable Lower Bann at Portna. This links Lough Neagh, the largest lake in the British Isles, with the sea. The prospect of reopening the Ulster Canal between Lough Neagh and Lough Erne would provide access to the Shannon and promote the further use of these waterways, particularly for their tourist potential.
