Trias
Marl
This
wave-cut platform lies to the north of Carnlough in County Antrim,
Northern Ireland. It is cut into a rock called marl and is of Triassic
age, hence Trias Marl. Many other rock types can be found on the foreshore
here, many of them derived from material associated with the last
Ice Age, which ended in Ireland about 10,000 years ago.
