Ramore Head Ramore Head in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland is a dolerite volcanic sill at the landward edge of which the Victorian resort of Portrush has grown. Some of the grand Victorian hotels can be seen on the right background. The
sandy beaches to provide for the Victorian passion of sea bathing were
the reason for the resort growing up and establishing a rail link to
Belfast and Derry. One of these beaches, East
Strand, can be seen top left. The cliff-top walk around Ramore Head
must have been established in Victorian times too. |
